how do we get 4 daughter cells that have half the amount of chromosomes as the original cell?
How is that possible??
For example, if the original cell has 2 chromosomes in them! so how are we getting 4 cells with half the amount of chromosomes during meiosis??

Respuesta :

DNA replication occurs in the interphase, before meiosis occurs.
If there are 2 chromosomes in the original cell, DNA replication produces another 2 chromosomes, coming to a new total of 4 chromosomes.
After meiosis, there will be 4 cells with half the amount of chromosomes, which is 1 chromosome per cell.
