Tom ate 1/4 of a pizza. he divided the leftover pizza into pieces each equal to 1/12 of the original pizza. after he gave some friends one each piece,1/6 of the original pizza remained. how many friends got pizza?

(12p/12)-(3p/12)-(fp/12)=2p/12

12p-3p-fp=2p

12-3-f=2

9-f=2

-f=-7

f=7

So he gave 7 friends 1/12 of the pizza

p-p/4-7p/12=p/6

12p-3p-7p=2p

2p=2p  :)
