If you do not want to keep a change automatically made by Word and you immediately notice the automatic correction, you can undo the change by clicking what
I'm pretty sure that pressing backspace will undo the correction. Failing that, hovering over the word reveals a little button with a lightning bolt, which when clicked will give you autocorrect options, including undoing the correction on that word.
